THE STATE PRESIDENT'S SPOTLIGHT
February 2008 | Elder Edgar Usher | Houston, TX

Elder Edgar Usher is an Associate Minister at the Christ Temple Apostolic Church, in Houston Texas, under the leadership of Suff. Bish. David Allen, Sr. Elder Usher was baptized in Jesus name and recieved the Holy Ghost at the age of 12 years old. Minister Perdue was called to the ministry at the age of 18 years old and preached his first message at the age of 21. Elder Usher has served as P&W Leader and Asst. Minister of Music at his home church.

Texas State Pentecostal Young People's Union

Elder Usher was first started opporating in the TSPYPU at age 15 as Teen Choir Director. From then until now, he has served as TSPYPU Teen Director, P&W Director, and has worked in many areas within the Texas State Council General Body.

Elder Usher is curently serving as an TSPYPU President and is fulltime Internation Evangelist, having ministered in every major city within the continental United State and numerous territories in Jamaica.

The Usher motto is "Ministering this uncompromising gospel in this new age with an old flavor."

Elder Usher is married to the beautiful Sister Taquena Usher and have been married for over 7 years.

Greatest Accomplishment: When elected into my current office, I was unanimously elected to be President of TSPYPU.
Most Memorable Moments: I was recently asked by Bishop Richard E. Young to replace Bishop Noel Jones at the Chosen Vessel's Sunday Morning Worship Service...a very humbling experience.
Most Embarrassing Moment: I had gotten sick (throwing up) on a nationally televised webcast while preaching for Suff. Bish. Mark Tolbert...a lady ran down the isle screaming to get a bucket because I was about to throw up. After the service, friends called from out of town to ask if I was okay...”leave the OJ alone before ministering.” Plus, in another instance of ministry, I received a $30 offering...and the offering came in an envelop with only coins.
