Ministerial/Business Biography (recommended)

Elder Edgar L. Usher, a native of Houston, Texas, was born on January 2, to Deacon Edward and Evangelist Lorena Usher. He is the sixth child of seven children. He received his education at Rhoades Elementary, Woodson Middle & Evan E. Worthing High School. Elder Usher heard and obeyed God's voice calling him to ministry at a very young age. He always seemed confident in himself and knew what he would be as he grew older.

What do you know about the IPYPU? The IPYPU is the auxiliary of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World established to minister to the needs of you and young adults. It has a rich history of great leaders that have blazed a trail for those of us who aspire to follow in their footsteps.
Why do you want to serve as an officer of the IPYPU? I believe that the IPYPU is making great strides in a positive direction and the skills I bring to this position will assist in the progress that is already being made.
What do you find most attractive about your position of candidacy? The ability to positively impact the youth of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World on an even larger scale. The work that we are doing in our individual councils is good, however, the IPYPU allows us to have a greater influence spiritually on a larger body of youth.
Why should the IPYPU elect you? I believe I am the best candidate for the job! We must put people in office that possess both the anointing and the demonstrated skills to perform in the designated position. I possess the abilities needed to perform this work and have demonstrated that I am able to follow leadership, as well as lead. I am able to move people to action and I value the needs of the constituents.
What are your long-range goals for the IPYPU? I would like to see a healthy IPYPU body where EACH council has a Young People’s Union that is actively functioning and ministering to the needs of its individual local churches.

The 2010-2014 Elections for the Officers of the IPYPU are being organized by the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc. and will be held Thursday and Friday, August 12-13, 2010 in Minneapolis, Minnesota at the Summer National Convention.
