ELDER C.D. COLLIER, PRESIDENT
Kansas City, MO

Objective:

My objective for the position of President of the International Young People's Union is to bring forth the administration, vision and the spirit of EXCELLENCE.

Mission Point:

To see the body of Christ edified and God glorified through spiritual leadership.

Biography:

Christopher D. Collier was born on February 5, 1974 to the parents of William and Shirley Collier. He was born and raised in St. Louis, MO. Elder Collier attended Bethesda Temple Church of the Apostolic Faith Inc., where the pastor is Bishop James A. Johnson.

At an early age, Elder Collier was baptized at the age of 6 and received the Holy Ghost at the age of 7. From then on, Elder Collier was very active in the church; he was an usher, organ player, saxophone player, and choir director. He was also very active in his state council, Midwestern District Council.

After graduating from High School, Elder Collier moved to Kansas City, MO, where he attended the University Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory. During his stay in Kansas City he attended Christ Temple Church where the pastor is Suffragan Bishop Mark C. Tolbert. In 1992, God called Elder Collier into the ministry, ever since that day, God has been doing a quick work in his life.

In 1995, Elder Collier was elected as Vice-President of the Northwestern District Council Young People’s Union. In 1997, Elder Collier graduated from U.M.K.C. with a Bachelor’s in Jazz and Performance. From 1998 to 2004 he was President of the N.W.D.C.Y.P.U., becoming the youngest to ever hold this position. Currently, at Christ Temple, Elder Collier is the Minister of Music, one of the Assistant Pastors, Youth Pastor of H.Y.P.E. Ministries (Helping Youth in Purpose and Empowerment). He also serves on the board of directors for the Lee A. Tolbert Community Academy Charter School and is Teen Director for International Young People’s Union of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World International.

In 1996, Elder Collier found a “good thing” and obtained favor from the Lord by marrying Sis. Le’Rhonda (Mimms) Collier. They now share the joy of their two daughters Jazzmine Sy’less and Alyssa Christine Collier.

God has richly blessed Elder Collier in the gospel music industry; he has recorded and played with some of the best; Thompson Community Choir, Chuck Smith, Kim Burrell, Joy Unlimited, Mark Hubbard. Elder Collier currently serves as the Musical Director for DeWayne Woods and When Singers Meet who is currently signed to Donald Lawrence label “Quiet Waters” with Verity Records. He is also, Vice-President of Shakin’ the Mountain Productions, which has produced several album projects; Bishop Mark Tolbert and Temple Worship, The N.W.D.C. Mass Choir and Friends, Min. John Mark Tolbert, and DeWayne Woods and When Singers Meet. Shakin’ the Mountain Production company is currently working on various projects with upcoming anointed singers and musicians in gospel music.

Through life’s ups and downs, Elder Collier has learned what it means to be “more than a conquer”. He is determined more than ever before to reach out to a dying world, and let them know that there is a God that wants to empower them for destiny. Elder Collier believes - “If we learn to be honest with God, others, and ourselves we will find that we hold the very key in our own hands to our own success. But, we must learn that when we are converted, that we must strengthen our brethren. We must watch as well as pray and also, maintain the INTEGRITY OF THE GOSPEL and continue to help one another to achieve the visions that God would have for our lives, for the building of His Kingdom.”
